Resort Consulting Associates (RCA) was founded in 1988 under
the original name of Resort Consulting Group (RCG) and is a
multi-disciplinary team of leading professionals in the resort,
tourism, and real estate development industries who provide
complete solutions to clients around the world.

Cate Thero
Cate Thero is the Managing Principal of RCA and oversees client
development, assembling and coordinating the project team, and
providing advisory services for resort and tourism clients.
Cate was the Vice President of Marketing & Sales of the Intrawest
Resort Operations Group with over $400 million in annual sales from
the ski, golf, and beach resort operations. Cate led the corporate
marketing team and the resort-based teams into new on-line
marketing efforts with e-commerce transactions, common web content
platforms, central call center operations, national sales accounts, presold
products, market research, revenue management, on-line
distribution, customer relationship marketing, and multi-resort and
branded programs and advertising campaigns. Cate worked at
Intrawest from 1999 to 2007.
Cate has been the General Manager of a ski and golf resort, with full
responsibility for all aspects of the resort operations, capital
improvements, and strategic planning. She has also been the Director
of Hotel Marketing and Sales for a resort quarter-share condo hotel
and has been a consultant to the resort and leisure travel industry for
over ten years with specialties in marketing, sales, hospitality
operations, and market analysis of development opportunities.
Cate is a full member of the Resort Development Council for the Urban
Land Institute (ULI). Cate graduated from Georgetown University in
Washington, DC with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and
International Management. Cate also graduated from Harvard Business
School with a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) degree.
